Back at the cabin that day. Gwen and I were both still in shock.
I don't think what had just happened had really set in. Everyone
saw our happiness and love in one another. It was great. Gwen
especially loved her ring. The one that was on her finger. The
fake ring. I almost didn't have the heart to tell her it wasn'
t the real one. But I had to. Back at the cabin in front of
the fireplace. I bent down on one knee and told her the story.
I told her I was nervous and afraid I might lose a ring in the
snow. I told her I had worked so hard to make this a special
day for both of us and I didn't want anything to go wrong. So
I had a duplicate ring made just in case. What she didn't know
was that real ring was almost twice as big as the fake ring.
So when I opened the real ring box and she saw her real diamond
she almost fainted. It was bigger, brighter, and was the true
representation of my love for her.
I took the white sapphire off her finger and slipped the diamond
on. The funny part was the fake ring was sized wrong. So I had
to propose on Gwen's pinky finger on the mountain. It was the
only thing that didn't go the way I planned. But it worked out
super because her real ring was the first thing that I slipped
on to her ring finger. So it was great that when I pulled out
her real ring it was sized and fit her cute fingers perfectly.
We are both very happy. Thank you for letting us share this
with you. Our friends mean the world to us. I hope everyone
finds happiness in the love we have found in one another. Gwen
and I are planning a Fall wedding for 2002. Possibly October.
